What you will learn
During the sessions we will also cover a range of mental health wellbeing topics, depending on the interests of the group:
Assertiveness; Finding motivation; How do we Change?; Tips and techniques for relaxation; Journaling and sketch books; Optimism; Friends, family and community; Art and creativity; Managing emotions; Recovering from disappointment; Caring for ourselves; How do we know when we need to get help? Diet, nutrition and mood.
Entry requirements
This is a beginners class suitable for people with limited or no previous experience. Students must be able to understand English.
What you will need
Pen and notebook. A ring binder a4 sized folder to keep sewing samples in and handouts in. The tutor will let you know what equipment you will need to bring for the following lessons. However, a basic sewing kit would be an advantage for you to invest in pre-course.

Can we attend classes online?
Unfortunately, these classes/workshops are set up to be in person practices especially due to the nature of the work which is very physical and hands-on.

Resources
You will have the use of all equipment in the workroom including: large tables, sewing machines, over-lockers, irons & metal rulers.
Material Costs
After the first lesson you will know what you need to bring with you which will include fabrics and your own basic sewing kit. List available at first session. Some materials can be purchased from the tutor. Price list available in the classroom. Basic Materials are:
-Dressmakers pins
-Seam Unpicker
-Calico Fabric (1-2meters worth)
-Dressmakers chalk markers
-A reel of strong thread (recommended Guitermann)
-Fabric Scissors and Embroidery (small) Scissors
