What you will learn

You will be introduced to the general principles and skills relating to sewing and garment making, also using a commercial pattern.

Entry requirements

A beginners class is suitable for people with limited or no previous experience. Students must be able to understand English.

What you will need

Pen and notebook to the first lesson.  The tutor will let you know what equipment you will need to bring for the following lessons.  For example a basic sewing kit.

You will need to purchase a commercial pattern for the beginner’s project which will be discussed in the first week of class.

You will have the use of all equipment in the workroom including: large tables, sewing machines, over-lockers, irons & metal rulers.

Material Costs

After the first lesson you will know what you need to bring with you which will include fabrics and your own basic sewing kit. List available at first session. Some materials can be purchased from the tutor. Price list available in the classroom.
