Introduction and Course Content
This class is a perfect chance to learn to make the most of your wardrobe, be it vintage or new clothes, favorite outfits that could do with a bit of TLC… In this class you will bring new or old clothes that need mending, updating to the latest styles and those that require alterations for a perfect fit. You may also bring unfinished clothes making projects that need expert help to complete. Learners will do the sewing as directed by the tutor.
Sewing techniques you may learn or refresh include:
consolidation to the use of sewing and overlocking machines and hand sewing
Shorten or lengthen skirts’ or trousers’ hems neatly
Modify collars or sleeves
Take in width or let out with the use of fabric panels
Insert or replace zips, and much more
Entry Requirements
This course is aimed at adult learners (18+) who are familiar with the use of a sewing machine and can hand sew.

Resources
You will have the use of all equipment in the workroom including: large tables, sewing machines, over-lockers, irons & metal rulers.
Material Costs
You will need to supply all garments, fabrics, haberdashery & your own sewing kit, list available at first session. Some materials can be purchased from the tutor. Price list available in the classroom.
